REMODELING & NEW CONSTRUCTION

Building a new house or remodeling your current home? This service is for you!

We will work together to pinpoint your design style, look through your inspiration images and discuss the goals for your new space. We will spend a large part of the developmental stage thinking through the ways that you and your family will use your home and hone in on how to make it feel and function exactly the way you want it to.

From there I will create a design plan. Through a series of meetings and in collaboration with your architect or contractor, I will help you with floor plan drawings, electrical placement, cabinet design, paint colors, flooring, tile, counter tops, lighting, hardware selections, and all the little details that will make your home look thoughtfully and intentionally designed. With this service, you will also have the option to add on styling and furnishing services.

FAQ's

When is the best time to get a designer involved in the building or remodeling process?

Right away! Once the ball is rolling it can become difficult and costly to go backward and make changes to incorporate ideas that you may not have thought of from the start. Hiring a designer can help you start your project off on the right foot and make sure when finished it’s the dream home you’ve been imagining.

How does an interior designer fit into the construction process?

This is a big one to answer! A designer’s role in the construction process starts by making sure your wants and needs are met from the start. We dive deep into the nitty gritty and ask all of the questions to be sure the floor plan and design really embodies what you and your family truly need out of your space. With so many moving parts involved in a new build or home remodel, it’s easy to get lost in the details. Your architect, contractor, plumber, electrician and so on will all be focused on specific aspects of the project. The role of a designer is to keep the bigger picture in mind to ensure the space is not just liveable but beautiful and functional. Next we act as the liaison between you and your contractor, effectively communicating with the contractor and subcontractors working on the project. A designer's deep knowledge of the construction process and position as your liaison allows you to skip the hassle of potential miscommunication that can occur between you and your contractors.

Can we include some of my existing furniture pieces in the design?

Absolutely! I encourage clients to incorporate some of the treasured pieces they already own. These pieces make the home feel more personal and collected. With that said, I will also speak candidly with you about what works and what doesn't within the design of your space

Where do you source the products you use in your designs?

Products are purchased from a variety of sources tailored to your unique project. I use local shops, to-the-trade vendors as well as online retailers.
